My personal favorites are:
Torm
Desolation maul
spiky War Hammer
But I do agree they need more weapon skins, or figure out a way to make other skins more desireable to mid-grade players, because it's hard as hell to find buyers for really nice mid-level items like Guardian of the Hunt, Runic blades, Fellblades, Gloom shields...stuff that went for boatloads of cash back in the day are unwanted. There are two types of players: ones that can afford the big stuff so don't buy the little stuff, and ones who can't afford the big stuff and don't want to pay for the medium stuff when they can pay 1k for a common skin and get along fine.
People need to research different skins rather than just wanting the top shelf items every time. I have, besides tormented, only one weapon on my warrior that was considered "top shelf" in the past year or so...a draconic aegis. Everything else was big way back in the day but dropped out of popularity, but still looks good and is really "rare" when you think about it...most people are running common junk or the top shelf items, so it's not very impressive to have them anyway. Just another follower, I say when I see a BDS or Frog Scepter. Show me a nice armor combo that isn't overdone along with some nice weapons that match and work well together, and I'm impressed.
Couldn't agree more with most opinions here - items are worth what people are prepared to pay for, based upon it rareness/looks. But the majority of GW players I would say aren't really that fussed with having to wield a set of Voltaic Spear/Tormented Shield, then switch to Eternal Blade/Celestial Shield.... spamming them in team chat to say "look how small my **** is". And armour sets, meh, who cares that a player is wearing a set of FoW armour. Everyone has their own tastes, it doesn't need to be thrust in the faces of 7 other people.
And man, oh for some new content. Designer weapons, armour sets, areas - whatever, would be nice to have something a little different to tide us over with until GW2 in 2032... we are getting increased storage space though, so praise be (/sarcasm).
It is a game - just because someone comes pimped out in Daddy's best Credit Card-obtained kit doesn't make them a better player, usually quite the opposite (note "usually", there are exceptions). Given a choice between a player with starter-ish armour/weps or a pimped out showboater, the starter will win for me anyday.
Funny how you think GW2 will be released sometime this century.
As for the weapon skins, not everything 100k+XXXe is amazing. Same thing w/minipets. They're 1/10 of your body height and have no benefit whatsoever to the game except for Epeen. I mean, a max insightful bo staff of enchanting has the exact same benefits as a max insightful BDS of enchanting.
So if A-net wants to make these ub3r rare weapons worth their value, give them a benefit that would make you want to pay XXe for. Maybe give them innate mods like 40% enchanting or something, but that's turning the game into WoW. But unlike WoW, max weapon 1 has no special benefit to max weapon 2, yet max weapon 1 costs +100e more which is absurd. And yet the only reason this keeps this going is the demand.
I'ld say part of the problem is the lack of an auction house/global trade system. Except for the really rare and desirable skins, it is practically impossible to find the people who desire skin X, so you have to drop the price and sell to people who don't care about the skin instead.
Its been said more than once but I will say it again.
It is all subjective.
Personally I love my Tribal Axe, my Fellblade and Icy Dragon Sword. The Tall Shield is still one of my favourite skins, though I wish it came in Strength as well as Tactics.
While I was one of the many people that got suckered into purchasing some high end items just because others placed a high value on them I learned from my mistakes.
Keep in mind that just because an item is rare and/or valueble doesn't mean people really love how it looks. A great number of people just want to have one of every item in the game so they will pay what ever it takes to aquire what they can't farm.
I use skins I like also.. I don't fall for the slippy prices either.. but as a oldschool farmer I just replace them as I get the same skin with lower req sell the rest here's a good shot of the tetsubo I farmed quite awhile back (probably 2 years ago)
the hammer is huge compared to alot of other skins.. the pirana has got to be one of my favorite though- cause in the arenas you can own a bucktooth with a fish and ask him how he likes his fish for roid rages.. the elemental sword looks awesome too as a +5 energy for sf sin
there's alot of skins out there that look awesome and don't sell!
Many of the most valuable skins aren't easy to acquire. For instance, most of the design-a-weapon skins were put in end dungeon chests with low droprates. And eternals/obsidian edges are in uw/fow end chests respectively, with an even lower droprate from the zchest.
Another thing to consider is that when a person truly loves their character of a certain class, they tend to buy the most expensive weps for that char, sparing no expense.
And finally... alot of the skins anet comes up with aren't really that "inspired." Id say the best skins actually come from player contest designs. But when you think about it, it really is stupid to go around buying tons and tons of rare skins that are no different than what you could get at a colletor/crafter other than personal appeal. Especially when every time you buy a wep you get closer to filling your limited inv.
Thread title should be "I can't count and want more stuff".
You mean "I can count and know perfectly well how to present my point so that you say what I want you to say"? The "6" in the title should clearly be a 5.5

And either that 5.5 to "about a million, most of which don't play anymore" or "million people" to "sold copies of all games".
Expensive != good looking, and vice versa. Black dye is the most expensive dye because it's the rarest, even though it makes many armors look absolutely horrible. Bandannas, blindfolds, masks, etc, are not the prettiest headpieces and they don't go with all armors, but people wear them because they're expensive. Same with chaos gloves.
The point is, you can't judge the quality of weapon skins based on prices. A zodiac bow still looks as cool now as it did when it came out 3 years ago, there are just more of them now (and some available in inscribable versions). It's still a great looking bow. The same goes for many, many, many other skins that have fallen by the wayside, and many others that have never enjoyed a significant popularity in the first place. Hell, your list doesn't even include many GW:EN skins, which are only "undesirable" because people see them so seldomly. As soon as one becomes a fad, like the (relatively easily farmed) Bone Dragon Staff, b00m, price hits the ceiling.
So basically, ragging on ANet for not introducing enough cool skins to satisfy players, the same players who are content, even proud, to stand in Kamadan dist 1 wearing the same black fow + chaos gloves + bandanna as everyone else, is idiotic. There will always be a select few most expensive weapons, just based on which are the rarest.
Many of the expensive skins that the OP named are just "meh" and some of them are even ugly.
And it is not just the fact that they dont give any additional advantage over another max damage weapon skin, they are usually a disadvantage! Why? Because 99.9% of the time, people who have these rare skins do not dare to customize them, so they are 20% less damaging!
Personally, I prefer the skins from the BMP and they always come customized!

I find it strange how people can find some of the expensive/rare skins desirable. Personally i like alot of the lower end skins. I also dont understand what the point is with having Q7/8 weapons, when you have far more than that amount of points in an attribute, the only time where it actualy tents to come in usefull are on tact shields.

Imbagon'ing is a tad easier with a Req. 7/15AL shield. Lets you invest only 6+1 in Command, not 8+1.
Maybe the problem simply is that some people are getting to the point where they pretty much have everything they want, so there's nothing much left to really go for. As a lot of people already indicated in one way or another, there's no accounting for taste, but a lot of people seem to be motivated to like something because it is expensive rather than whether they really like it or not for what it is. Human nature, nothing you can do.
Let's just say, the game has it's limits and more and more people are reaching them.
